How many of you realize that we have our very own accomplished
poet in our midst? Wanda is one of those people that sit quietly among us drinking in the Spirit of God in our services. She helps out where ever she can. She works in the kitchen, teaches our kids Bible School crafts, helps with the Scrapbooking Group, and is just always there (with a smile) when you need her. We often take these wonderful people for granted and don't even realize the many talents they posses. Wanda not only paints beautiful pictures but she writes beautiful and touching poetry. Click on the link below to read her poem that we selected for Valentine's Day. I love the line: "'I Iove you', comes with strings attached. That's the way it's got to be. Strings to tie yourselves together, to let your heart run free." |

SUNDAY SCHOOL
CONTEST:
SUNDAY SCHOOL OLYMPICS Beginning January 20th, make plans to attend Sunday School classes on Wednesday nights for the the next six weeks to participate in the "Sunday School Olympics". Each class will have a "color" to join them together. Earning points will result in the winning team receiving a prize for their class. Ways to earn points include: attendance, wearing team colors, bringing your Bible, bringing visitors and inviting friends to church. The team with the best team spirit will earn extra points. You won't want to miss a week during which there will be ski jumping, curling, skiing, hockey, snow ball fighting and bobsledding. Closing ceremonies will be February 28th. Winners will be announced and awards handed out on that morning. |

| A major earthquake hit Haiti Tuesday, January 12, 2010. Roughly a third of the population of the country has been affected, with extreme shortages in food, water, shelter, fuel, and medical care. Local Nazarenes are working to distribute food, water, tents, and provide medical attention.
With nearly 120,000 Haitian Nazarenes, General Superintendent J.K. Warrick has sent out a call for help saying: "I plead with [Nazarenes] to respond with prayers, financial gifts, and other types of assistance as may be appropriate."
